central filtering of emails
This describes the filters of the University Computing Center. The Faculty of Engineering and the Department of Computer Science operate their own systems:
Email filtering by the University Computing Center
When transfering emails via the systems of the University Computing Center different safety restrictions and several content checks will be applied.
- rules and guidelines
- rules and restrictions regarding mail transmission and operation of mailboxes
- DFN-mail support
- spam and virus filtering at the DFN
- virus filtering
- the content of every email is checked for known viruses
- greylisting
- incoming emails will be accepted with delay under certain conditions
- spam recognition
- emails arriving from external sources will undergo checks of trustworthiness and content. Emails recognized as likely being undesired ("rocognized spam") will be marked.

The central recognition of spam filters does not perform automatic filtering out of regognized spam. This is possible via an incoming mail filter by the owner of tha mailbox.
