Students at Kiel University get two accounts for the usage of services as e-mail, e-learning and wifi:

• The stu-number (stu123456) provdes acces to all study relevant services (see below). The stu-number expires with the end of your studies. You can find the stu-number in your matriculation documents.
• The CIM-numer (abc123) provides acces to service of external providers. It is valid as long as you are matriculated or working at the CAU. You can find your CIM-number in the overview of the CIM-service-portal.

Account activation

In order to use your accounts you will need to set passwords for them. This can be done in the  CIM-service-portal. To log into the CIM-service-portal use your stu-number as the username and the RZ-Pin as the password. In the CIM-service-portal all passwords can be changed and an overview of all your accounts is available.

Rz-pin

The RZ-pin is a a personal, secret key which is used to log into the Cim-service-portal if you have forgotten your password. The Rz-pin is found in the documents which you have rcieved after matriculation.

The preliminary certificate of the international center does not contain a RZ-pin. Please wait for the matriculation documents.

If the RZ-pin should be lost you can generate a new one using the  CIM-service-portal. The Rz-Pin is only send to the verfied e-mail adress which has been registered in the Cim-service-portal.

Security information

Due to data protection and security reasons employees of the computing center or the univiersity will never ask you for your Rz-pin or passwords.

Your Cim-number can be used for:
