Here's how to change the password for any service (email, Wi-Fi, VPN, or others). As an example, the WLAN service is used here.

Step 1: Login in the CIM Service Portal

Log in to the CIM Service Portal. Open this in a new web browser window. You should now see a web page as shown in the following picture.
Then click on "Sign in" in the upper right corner.

Enter your ID (For Employees: CIM ID, if any) and the associated password or RZ pin. For more information about login and identifiers, see the CIM Service Portal article. After logging in, you will be directed to the self-information page, as shown in the following picture.

Step 2: Select the appropriate service

Now click on "Settings" in the upper left corner. As indicated in the following figure.

As you can see in the following figure, you will now see a list of all the IDs (the gray boxes) that have been booked for you. In this view, passwords for all services booked to an identifier can be set at once.

Since we do not want to set all the passwords of an ID in this manual, we have to switch to a corresponding view. Click on "Change password (advanced options)" to enter the service password management view. You will now find a minimally modified view, in which a hook box was displayed before each service and the hook box for the entire ID is hidden.

Now tick the box for the service (s) whose password you want to change. In the next picture you can see how the hook for WLAN has been set for several identifiers.

Step 3: Enter new password

Scroll down. Below the identifiers you will find two form fields. In the first field, enter a password according to the password guidelines. The guidelines are summarized in the text block to the left of the fields. Repeat the selected password in the second field. The frame around the "New Password" field will remain red until the password policies are met, then change to green. If the password was not repeated correctly, it will be signaled by an overlay below the fields.

Finally, you will be asked for confirmation of the password with which you have logged in step 1 in the CIM Service Portal. Enter this and confirm.

Afterwards your password was changed successfully. Activation of your newly set password can take up to 5 minutes.

You can now log out or change other passwords.
