The eduroam project is a collaboration between hundreds of educational and research institutions. As part of the project, the participating institutions operate a WLAN network called eduroam and an infrastructure for mutual authentication of users. Users, the members of the facilities, can use the eduroam WLAN at all participating institutions.
The National and International Infrastructure Coordination is operated by roaming operators and a central eduroam administrator team, funded by the GÉANT project. In Germany, the national infrastructure is operated by the DFN, to which the CAU connects to.
The use of eduroam at other facilities requires no additional formalities from users, provided you are enabled in for WLAN use.
