Microsoft Outlook 2010

In order to be able to carry out these instructions, you need a mail account that has been activated for Exchange.

Please make sure that you know your email address and correct password so that you can complete the instructions successfully.

These instructions cover the case that Outlook has not been used in another configuration before.

General instructions

 

1. Open the control panel and click on 'user accounts'

2. Click on 'E-mail'

3. Click on 'Show profiles'

4. Select the 'Add' button

5. Enter a profile name of your choice, for example 'Exchange Uni Kiel'

6. If you are registered in an AD, your name and email address are automatically recognized.

7. All settings should be detected automatically. Click Finish to complete the setup.

Congratulations, your e-mail account has now been set up correctly.

Manual setup

 

1. Select the item 'Manually configure server settings or additional server types' and click Next

2. Select the menu item 'Microsoft Exchange or compatible service' and click Next

3. Enter the address ex.mail.uni-kiel.de in the 'Server' field and your email address in the 'User name' field. Then click on 'Further settings'.

4. Select the 'Connection' tab, check 'Connect to Microsoft Exchange via HTTP' and then click on 'Exchange proxy setting...'

5. Enter the URL ex.mail.uni-kiel.de and select in the menu 'Proxy Authentication Settings' the option 'Standard Authentication' in the menu. Then click on OK.
