WIFI configuration for ChromeOS

This is a step-by-step tutorial on how to configure the eduroam network on devices running the ChromeOS operating system.

Before you start, make sure that your Chromebook is on the latest OS update and all available updates are installed.

You will also need an internet connection to perform the setup. You can use the “setup eduroam” network, which is available in some university buildings, or your own hotspot. Alternatively, you can complete steps 1 and 2 at home or at another location where you have internet access and then complete step 3 at the university.

Step 0:

Please note that you can only configure eduroam after you have set a password for the corresponding service in the CIM Portal

Step 1:

Open the Website cat.eduraom.org in your browser and click on the button to Download the eduroam installer.

You will be asked to select your university. Select the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel. Should the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel not be visible as an option, just use the search function and search for “Kiel”.

You will be asked to download the installer for Chrome OS. Use the button labeled with “eduroam” to do so.
