General information about the University Computing Center (RZ)

The University Computing Center (RZ) is one of the main facilities of the University of Kiel. The main task is to support the university in research,  teaching and administration activities.

Main tasks are:

• Operating the whole communication infrastructure of the university
• Support of sciences by supply of computing and storage systems
  
• IT-Support of institutions, boards and users
• Supply of an infrastructure for hosting of general tasks (WWW, FTP etc.) and special appliances

Admission

All departments of the university can use the computing center free of charge on the basis of the User Framework Regulation (Ordinance).

All users have to register in order to use the services of the computing center. Employees have to  fill in a form, students have to register in the Students Online project.

Operation hours / Service   Monday - Thursday   8:00 am - 17:00 pm

                                           Friday                        8:00 am - 16:00 pm
