As the central service provider for IT services on campus, the computing centre is involved in many centralized and decentralized projects. A selection of these is presented in the following.

DMS - Introduction of a document management system

The executive committee of Kiel University is promoting the introduction of a document management system at Kiel University in an initial project phase until mid-2019. Read more.

HISinOne-EXA

CAU is currently introducing HISinOne as a technically and functionally integrated campus management system. This system combines IT-supported processes in the area of studies and teaching as comprehensively as possible on one platform and thus contributes significantly to the standardization and improvement of services for students. Kiel Directory of Scholars

Kiel Directory of Scholars - Professors from 1919 to 1965 is an online collection of biographical data on all Kiel University professors who taught at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität between 1919 and 1965. Read more.

The computing centre operates extensive computing and storage resources for the Kiel Open Software and Data Lab (KOLab). Read more.

OER - Open Educational Resources

Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open Educational Practices (OEP) are innovative digital building blocks of modern teaching - digital media that can be freely used, modified and processed, or new knowledge practices that incorporate the production of teaching material in teaching and school lessons as OER. SFB 1182 - Metaorganism

The Collaborative Research Centre 1182 investigates the interactions between host organisms and their associated microorganisms (microbiota).Read more.

SynFo - Creating synergies on the operational level of research data management

In the BMBF project SynFo - 'Creating synergies at the operational level of research data management', organizational and technical interfaces across institutions are defined and tested. Read more.

UniLLAP - University Data Management: from teaching, learning and application into practice

The BMBF project UniLLAP is developing and testing exemplary teaching formats and materials for research data management. These will be incorporated into curricular teaching and ultimately into the course of study. Read more.

VoIP

The schedule is supposed to be the following:

  • Stage 1: week number 5  -  tbd : replacement of all network distribution devices ( approx. 600 switches)
  • Stage 2: week number tbd - tbd: replacement of all telecommunication devices
