Microsoft WSUS (Windows Server Update Services) is a software, which enables the automatic distribution of updates released for Microsoft operating systems and products.

Service

The Computing Centre maintains a WSUS server, which deploys recent Microsoft updates and patches. In the extent of available resources the Computing Centre staff filters the provided patches for sorting out patches that might cause problems. PCs located at University area can be connected to RZ-WSUS via configuration for obtaining current status of installed software.

Advantages

Using WSUS is a quick and easy way of staying up to date and managing updates, relevant for it security reasons, automatically.

Availability

This service can be used around the clock.

Fault messages are accepted around the clock via hotline form.

Registration

There is no explicit registration required. Windows pcs inside the University network can be connected as explained on the WSUS sites to the WSUS server.
