In the computing centre there are different possibilities for scientific computing. In addition to special machines for certain specialist areas, a NEC compute cluster is also available in the HPC area, in this case the NEC ACE vector computer.


Range of service

  • Provision of the network infrastructure for using the machine via VPN.
  • Data backup of certain file systems (/home) on a central backup server.
  • Provision and operation of the software and hardware infrastructure for high-performance computing. Installation of various software packages such as Matlab etc., which are not included in the scope of NEC's software maintenance. Backup of the system and /home directories

In normal operation, the service is available around the clock every day.

Interruptions due to maintenance of software or hardware will be announced in time via the HPC user mailing list.
